These are some older recordings reaching back till 1993. That I would like to re-record, but that are actually good enough on their own already. Both are pretty melancholic, almost dramatic pieces.
Deaf Was inspired by Ludwig van Beethoven's "Mondschein Sonate" (Moonlight Sonata) and for some weird reasons I usually see a lonely girl in a wide white dress (of the Krinolinen/Biedermeier sytle of 1850) dancing by herself to it.
Schneeflöckchen (little snowflake) refered to my girlfriend at this time. She seemed so frail and emotionally sensitive at times, that made me wonder how I should ever deal with a snowflake on my palm if it would melt anyway?
Para:Site is one of those songs that were inspired by the sound of its melody. The timbre and envelope of a sound make me creating a melody rather for, than with it. Nicolette said, that she liked it and so I made a little song from the rough pre-recording. The name is rather an insider joke between her and me. She told me mistletoe shall be a parasite... So I wondered why people at xmas feel like kissing under a "parasite".
Feel is one of those "rough" sounding slightly disturbing synth intrumentals also inspired by Nicolette's troubled soul back at this time. It's not even a full finished song.
This instrumental appreared already in 1989, on my Yamaha DSR 2000 but had to wait until the Emulator 4 showed up in my rack in 1997 for the inspiration to be finished.
This instrumental was inspired by a Roland U220 in March 1995. At this time however the Saxophon part was a sample melody-line. Working with the Mov.a.Bit.de in 2000 I happen to meet Nikolaus who plays improvised Sax on House- & Techno-Parties. He not really followed the given tight and punchy melody but added a lot of quite nice feeling by improvising in an 1-2 hour recording session.
These instrumentals where complicately arranged by transfering some of the nice Phrases of the Sony Playstation Music Game called Fluid in 1998. The game only allowed 8 specified phrases in repeating 8/4 beats with minor access to tune, pan, or put FX's to them. So that I considered to retrive them for an appropiate arrangement. The names are according to the little Dolphin-Sceneries where are the most Phrases from.
